I could not miss the 10th anniversary of the Broadbeach Blues Festival ! I’ve been there to take pictures in 2009 (Images here), and in 2010 (images here).
Je ne pouvais pas rater les 10ans du Broadbeach Blues festival (surtout que c’est a 5min de chez moi). J’y étais déja en 2009 (les images ici) et en 2010 (les images ici).
I do not have a lot to say, same old good recipe ! Some good blues, some cool people, a cool location and there you go ! Light conditions have not changed either, red light to the max, no white front lights and since it’s winter I shot most of the gig in the dark ! Well nothing new for concert images I guess… :) I took the 7D and 40D down for some photographic fun & challenge. And the again the 70-200 f/4 as proven to be a great ally even if I would love, like last year, a 2.8 !
J’ai pas grand chose a dire, une bonne recette qui reste inchangée ! Du bon blues, des gens fun et un endroit chouette comme tout ! Des lumières absolument atroces comme toujours, du rouge, du violet, pas de lumière blanche de face et comme c’est l’hiver ici j’ai shooté de nuit (et c’est en plein air), bref un bon cocktail de challenge, mais c’est ça qui fait le charme de la photo de concert. J’ai pris le 7D et le 40D, le 70-200 F/4 (oui je radote mais le 2.8 de Thierry me manque aussi dans ces conditions…), mais ce bon vieu f/4 ne me fait jamais faux bond et s’en sort pas trop mal !

I discovered them last year and I really liked their music ! Really glad I got to see them again this year (twice actually… :) ). They also deliver a great performance, so much energy ! Their opening was quite .. simple ! Je les ai decouvert l’an dernier et j’ai vraiment accroché a leur musique, j’ai donc eu la chance de les revoir 2 fois cette année. Leur entrée sur scèene était … simple ?!

My few hours of concert photography are done for this year ! It was great and reminded me how much I miss hooting for froggy delight in Paris, such a great experience. Voila, mes quelques heures de photo de concert annuelle sont terminées et ca m’a bien rappelé a quel point ca me manque de shooter pour Froggy a Paris !
